Smallhandy
The small drybulk market remains stable with a slightly firm bias, supported by steady fertilizer and agricultural cargo demand. Urea and WBP trades are showing freight in the low-to-mid USD 20s/mt, while limestone remains softer around the low USD 10s/mt and PKE around the low-to-mid USD 20s/mt. Overall, demand is providing reasonable support to regional tonnage, although the market remains balanced rather than strongly bullish.
Handysize
For handy segment, the US Gulf and North Coast South America run to the Continent accounted for more than four-fifths of the decline on its own. In Asia free tonnage built while cargo held steady. A 2019 built dwt 39,000 took a prompt Thailand trip to South East Asia with sugar at $16,000. Dwt 28,000 were exchanged at rate around $10,000-$11,000 for a trip from South East Asia to North bound.
